Employment
YMCA Camp Pepin is now accepting Staff applications for 2012! Please make sure you have all of the necessary paperwork completed before you submit your application.
Note: the Employment forms are in PDF format, which requires the FREE Adobe Reader. Get it here.
Camp Pepin hosts around 110 campers (boys and girls, grades 2-12) for 8 weeks (Sunday-Friday) throughout the summer (mid-June through mid-August).
Resident Counselors work together in pairs when supervising cabin groups of up to 10 campers each and live in cabins with the campers. They also guide campers in activities that include canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rugby, archery, riflery, nature, horseback riding, theater, arts and crafts, high ropes, the climbing tower, and adventure trips.
Program staff oversee major activity areas or specialty camps while serving in positions such as Program Director, Waterfront Director, Boating Director, Challenge Course Director, Leadership Director, Target Sports Director, Trail Director, and Arts & Crafts Director. When program staff are not with the campers, they live in staff lodging.
All staff receive housing and meals at no cost while camp is in session, and are also trained in First Aid, CPR, and optional Lifeguarding for free. All of our staff members also have scheduled time off during the week and on weekends, and frequently take advantage of either enjoying the many outdoor activities in the area (such as climbing the bluffs, biking to one of the local villages, or canoeing the Mississippi), or going to one of the nearby attractions (such as visiting the Mall of America, watching a baseball game, or attending one of the many local summertime festivals).

Staff that are hired seasonally will be emailed an Employment Agreement and will need to complete and submit the hiring forms that are appropriate to their position in the Employment Packet. They will also want to browse through the Camp Pepin Employee Manual before they arrive to become acquainted with procedures and policies that will be important to them.
If you have any questions about the application materials, any available staff positions, or about Camp Pepin in general, please contact the Camp Director . You are also invited to have the Camp Director take you on a tour so that you have a better idea of what camp is like. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
